Introducing SKE Lift: Discover the Platform Hidden in Your Existing Infrastructure
Today, we're announcing SKE Lift in private preview, a new capability from Syntasso that discovers and codifies the platform hidden in your existing infrastructure.
Instead of rebuilding your platform from scratch, SKE Lift analyses the infrastructure and automation you already have, identifies the reusable capabilities within it, and turns them into governed platform capabilities as Kratix Promises.

You already have a platform. It's just hidden
Most enterprise infrastructure wasn't designed as a platform. It evolved into one.
Years of VM config churn, Terraform refactoring, cloud-native tooling testing, shell script patching, CI pipeline improvements, manual console changes, and emergency production fixes gradually become the platform an organisation depends on. The result often works remarkably well, but very few people can explain how it all fits together, let alone turn it into something that can be managed consistently. What you need is a method to reverse engineer this platform into standardised, composable, and governed building blocks.
Building on Syntasso Kratix Enterprise, SKE Lift does exactly that, reducing the time, cost, and risk of producing, consuming, and maintaining platform capabilities.
From infrastructure sprawl to platform capabilities
SKE Lift analyses your existing environments to understand how your infrastructure is actually being used. Rather than producing another inventory of cloud resources, it identifies higher-level capabilities that already exist across your estate.
Those capabilities can then be generated as Kratix Promises, providing a consistent interface for requesting, governing, and evolving them over time. Instead of reverse-engineering individual resources, SKE Lift reverse-engineers the platform itself.
This means platform teams can begin standardising what they already have, rather than embarking on a costly migration or rewrite. Existing automation continues to deliver value while becoming easier to manage, share, and improve.
Imagine SKE Lift discovers that teams repeatedly combine a database, networking configuration, secrets, backup policies, and monitoring in broadly the same way. Rather than treating these as five unrelated resources, SKE Lift can identify the pattern as a higher-level platform capability and help turn it into a reusable Kratix Promise.
AI is accelerating infra. Governance has to keep pace
AI is making it easier than ever to create infrastructure. Engineers can generate Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, cloud configurations, and automation in seconds. But generating more infrastructure, faster, doesn't make it consistent, reusable, or easy to govern. Without the right platform abstractions, AI risks accelerating the same organic growth that created today's infrastructure complexity in the first place.
SKE Lift helps platform teams get ahead of that problem. By discovering the patterns that already exist across their infrastructure and turning them into governed Kratix Promises, teams can give both humans and AI agents reusable platform capabilities instead of letting them continually generate new implementations from scratch.
This also complements Syntasso Kratix Agentic (SKA). SKE Lift helps organisations discover and define the platform capabilities they already have; SKA provides a governed way for humans and AI agents to discover and consume them. Together, they help organisations take advantage of AI-driven delivery without giving up control over how infrastructure is created, governed, and maintained.
Don't rebuild your platform. Discover it
We're looking for organisations with substantial existing infrastructure estates that want to turn what they already have into a standardised, governed platform.
SKE Lift is still in its early stages, and we're deliberately keeping the private preview small while we work closely with customers. Rather than simply testing new features, our design partners will influence how SKE Lift discovers platform capabilities, generates Promises, and integrates into their existing platform engineering workflows.
In particular, we'd love to hear from organisations that:
Have infrastructure spread across multiple tools and delivery approaches.
Want to standardise existing platform capabilities instead of rebuilding from scratch.
Are exploring how AI fits into their platform engineering strategy.
Want to work directly with the Syntasso engineering team to shape the future of SKE Lift.
Join us to reverse engineer your hidden platform
Every organisation has a platform. For many, it's simply hidden beneath years of organic growth and operational knowledge. SKE Lift is designed to uncover that platform and help transform it into something that is governed, reusable, and ready for the next generation of software delivery with humans and AI.
If that sounds like a challenge you're facing, we'd love to talk!
